Hallwilerseelauf

The Hallwilerseelauf is an annual half marathon circling the shores of Lake Hallwil (Hallwilersee) in the canton of Aargau, Switzerland. Now in its 52nd edition, the race starts in the center of Beinwil am See and finishes at the town's lakeside Strandbad, tracing a scenic 21.1 km loop past vineyards, tree-lined waterside paths, and the medieval Schloss Hallwyl. The event also offers a 10 km run starting near Schloss Hallwyl, a 5 km Kurzlauf, student runs, Nordic Walking divisions over 10 km and 21.1 km, a non-competitive Erlebnislauf, and 2- and 3-person half marathon relay teams. The course record stands at 1:02:47.1 for men (Daniel Kiptum, Kenya, 2010) and 1:13:03.1 for women (Tola Zenebech, Ethiopia, 2002). Registration for the half marathon, 10 km, and 10 km Nordic Walking categories sold out well ahead of the October 10, 2026 race day, though the Erlebnislauf, student runs, and the free FAMIGROS Run & Win event remain open to keep the day accessible to newcomers and families.
