The Lowdown

The Isle of Wight Half Marathon is an annual half marathon organized by Ryde Harriers running club, held each August on the Isle of Wight off England's south coast. The race starts and finishes at Appley Park, with Race HQ at Ryde Rowing Club on Ryde Esplanade, and follows a two-lap, undulating 13.1-mile course through Ryde, Nettlestone, Whitefield Woods and St Helens, mixing quiet lanes, a bridleway section and a stretch of gravel track along the way. Entry is capped at 300 runners, with a minimum age of 17. The 2026 edition, held on Sunday, August 16, drew more than 250 finishers, with Joshua Cole (Bournemouth AC) winning the men's race in 1:14:32 and Natasha White (Northbrook AC) the women's race in 1:25:43. The Isle of Wight Half Marathon has run for well over a decade, and Ryde Harriers has already confirmed the next edition for August 2027, though the exact date had not been announced by the organizer as of research.
