The Lowdown

La Mezza di Asti is Asti's traditional half marathon, organized annually by ASD Gate Cral Inps, a club formed in 2008 from the merger of the historic Podistica Gate athletics group with Asti's INPS running section. The 13th edition, held April 12, 2026, drew more than 1,000 runners and returned to full FIDAL sanctioning alongside its longtime UISP authorization after several years run exclusively under UISP. The flat, largely bike-path course starts and finishes at the Campo Scuola on Via Giovanni Gerbi, looping through the city center and outskirts past Piazza Amendola, Corso Gramsci, the Lungotanaro riverside promenade, and Asti's industrial quarter before returning along the Lungoborbore. The race is held every year on a Sunday in April; the 2027 edition has not yet been formally announced, so this record projects a mid-April 2027 date based on that established annual cadence.
