Liverpool Half Marathon & 10 Miler
The Lowdown
The Liverpool Half Marathon & 10 Miler, organized under the BTR (Born To Run) banner since 2006, traces its roots to the 1994 Liverpool International Half Marathon, making the 2027 edition roughly the race's 33rd running. Since 2026 the route starts at Everton Football Club's Hill Dickinson Stadium on Regent Road and finishes at the Pier Head on the Liverpool waterfront, in front of the Liver Building, after a course redesign that lifted total capacity to 15,000 runners across both distances. The half marathon and 10 Miler run together on the closed-road course, which stays close to the River Mersey and passes through the city centre before the waterfront finish. A UKA-certified, largely flat point-to-point layout and a well-supported crowd along the route have made it a favourite spring tune-up ahead of the London Marathon. Finishers receive a medal, goody bag, and chip timing; the half marathon carries a 3-hour cut-off. Profits support the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, a Yorkshire-based cancer and health charity.
