The Lowdown

The London Landmarks Half Marathon (LLHM) is the only half marathon to run through both the City of London and the City of Westminster on closed roads, starting on Whitehall and finishing next to Trafalgar Square. Runners set off in nine staggered waves between roughly 9:15am and 10:40am. The flat, fast route passes Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, the Royal Courts of Justice, St Paul's Cathedral, the Gherkin, and Tower Bridge, with themed cheer stations, DJs, dancers and a Mascot Dash along the way. Organized by Tommy's, the pregnancy and baby-loss charity, LLHM raised more than 18 million pounds across 800-plus charities in 2026 with over 20,000 runners taking part. Entry is by public ballot, which typically opens the previous autumn and has already closed for the 2027 edition; charity partners such as Tommy's, Dementia UK and Mental Health Foundation continue to offer guaranteed places in exchange for a fundraising commitment. Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) is the event's returning official sponsor, running its Lions of London activation and a course water station, though the race keeps its sponsor-neutral name in common use. The next edition takes place on Sunday, 4 April 2027.
