The Lowdown

The Lucca Half Marathon sends runners twice around Le Mura, the Renaissance-era walls that encircle Lucca's historic center in Tuscany, on a flat, closed-course loop of 4.223 km repeated twice for the full 21.097 km. The route also winds through Piazza Napoleone and the city's medieval streets before finishing back inside the walls. Organized by ASD Lucca Marathon, the race has grown into one of Tuscany's most popular half marathons and regularly sells out its bibs — the 2026 edition, its 11th, closed registration weeks in advance with more than 1,500 runners on the start list. A companion 10km UISP run and a non-competitive 'Lucchesina' walk share the race weekend. The course carries FIDAL certification and a 2-hour-30-minute time limit.
