Maratón CAF Caracas
The Lowdown
Venezuela's flagship marathon, held annually since 2016 in the capital, Caracas. Long sponsored and organized by CAF – Banco de Desarrollo de América Latina y el Caribe (the Latin American development bank), the race starts and finishes at Parque Los Caobos and offers Marathon (42.2K), Half Marathon (21.1K), and 10K distances. The 2026 edition (its 10th) drew roughly 10,000 runners across all distances and served as the Venezuelan National Marathon and Half Marathon Championship, plus a qualifier for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo. Despite Venezuela's prolonged economic and political crisis, the event has continued to grow rather than shrink, with entry fees quoted and paid in USD (or the bolívar equivalent at the official BCV rate) to insulate the race from hyperinflation. The next edition is scheduled for February 21, 2027.

Entry fees are quoted and paid in USD (or the BCV bolívar equivalent) specifically to protect the race economics from Venezuela's hyperinflation.
The 2026 edition (10th anniversary) served as the Venezuelan National Marathon and Half Marathon Championship and as a qualifier for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games (Santo Domingo).
The event was historically also referred to as 'Maratón de Caracas'; CAF (Banco de Desarrollo de América Latina y el Caribe) is the long-standing title sponsor, hence the common name 'Maratón CAF' or 'Maratón CAF-Caracas'.
