Maratón Internacional LALA
The Lowdown
The Maratón Internacional LALA is one of Mexico's largest and fastest full marathons, held annually in early March across the Comarca Lagunera in the states of Coahuila and Durango. Sponsored by dairy giant Grupo LALA and first run in 1989, it reached its 37th edition in 2026 and regularly gathers around 4,500 runners. The 42.195 km point-to-point course is certified by the Mexican athletics federation (FMAA), World Athletics and AIMS, starting at the Grupo LALA industrial park in Gómez Palacio, Durango and finishing at the Bosque Venustiano Carranza in Torreón, Coahuila. Its flat, fast profile and strong elite field (recent editions won in the 2:18 range) make it a Boston Marathon qualifier and one of the most competitive road marathons in Mexico. The 2027 edition (38th) is scheduled for early March 2027; the specific date and registration details are confirmed by the organizer closer to the event.
