Maratonina Città di Lecco

The Maratonina Città di Lecco is an annual half marathon held on the shores of Lake Como in Lecco, Lombardy, in far northern Italy. Organized by Spartacus Events (Spartacus Triathlon Lecco) under the patronage of the Municipality of Lecco, the race has run every year since its debut and reached its 17th edition on March 1, 2026. The 21.097 km course is flat and fast, run as two out-and-back laps starting and finishing at Lungo Lario Isonzo, tracing the lakefront through the historic Pescarenico fishing quarter and along the shoreline toward the neighboring municipality of Abbadia Lariana, with the peaks of the Grigne and Resegone framing the route. Because the loop is largely flat, it draws runners chasing a personal best as much as those who come for the lakeside scenery. A non-competitive 10.5 km walk/run runs alongside the half marathon for participants who want a shorter, family-friendly option. The race has historically opened registration in the preceding autumn with a discounted early rate through year-end, tiered pricing as the date approaches, and a field capped at roughly 800 competitive finishers. Earlier editions carried the name of title sponsor Volkswagen (as the "Volkswagen Lecco City Half Marathon"); more recent editions run under the sponsor-neutral name, since sponsorship has changed from year to year.
