The Lowdown

Maratonina della Vittoria is an annual half marathon (21.097 km) run each March in Vittorio Veneto, in Italy's Veneto region, roughly an hour north of Venice. Organized by A.S.D. Scuola di Maratona Vittorio Veneto under the FIDAL Comitato Regionale Veneto as a nationally classified road race, the event reached its 11th edition on March 15, 2026, drawing more than 1,000 registered runners, up from over 800 the year before. The closed-loop course starts and finishes in Piazza del Popolo and links the municipalities of Vittorio Veneto, Cappella Maggiore and Sarmede, tracing the foot of the Venetian Prealps and the Prosecco hills before returning along the Meschio River cycle path. The route is fully paved except for roughly 800 meters of compacted dirt road, and is officially homologated under Category A course-measurement standards. Given the race's steady mid-March cadence -- the third Sunday of the month in recent years -- the next (12th) edition is projected for March 21, 2027; at the time of writing, the official site had not yet published exact 2027 pricing or opened registration.
