Maratonina Internazionale Città di Udine
The Lowdown
The Maratonina Internazionale Città di Udine is a FIDAL-certified road half marathon (21.097 km) through the streets of Udine in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, organized by A.S.D. Maratonina Udinese since 2002. The course has a reputation as one of the fastest half marathons in Italy: Lornah Kiplagat set a women's world record of 1:06:25 here that stood for over a decade. The 2026 edition, the 26th, introduces a new route through Udine and neighboring Tavagnacco designed to be even faster and more flowing than previous years, and doubles as the inaugural FIASO Run, the first Italian national half marathon championship for public and private healthcare workers, organized with the Italian Federation of Healthcare and Hospital Companies (FIASO). Race weekend also includes La Salita del Castello, a short castle-hill climb on the Friday, plus a family fun run (StraUdine) and children's races (Minirun) around the main event. Entrants must be at least 18 years old (20 for Runcard holders) and hold a valid FIDAL tessera, Runcard, or foreign federation membership with a medical certificate for competitive athletics valid through race day. Registration is tiered by date, with the lowest fees for early sign-ups between March and April and the highest for late and race-day registration; athletes over 70 and wheelchair participants register free.
