The Lowdown

The Media Maratón Ciudad de Cádiz is an annual half marathon along the Atlantic seafront of Cádiz, the walled port city on Spain's Costa de la Luz. Organized by the Asociación Gaditana Yo me uno al Reto together with Cronofinisher and the Ayuntamiento de Cádiz, the 21.097 km course starts at La Caleta beach and finishes beside the Cádiz Cathedral, running two laps along Campo del Sur, the Paseo Marítimo and Calle Brasil through the historic old town. First held in 2024, the race has grown fast: from roughly 1,600 finishers in its debut edition to about 2,600 in 2025, and the 3,000-bib cap for the third edition on Sunday, November 8, 2026 sold out well ahead of the scheduled October 31 registration deadline. Categories run from Sub-20 through Masters M70+, plus wheelchair and handbike divisions, with prize money for the top three open finishers. A non-competitive symbolic 'Dorsal Cero' entry remains available for supporters who want to take part without racing the full course. The race starts at 9:00 a.m. with an overall time limit of 2 hours 30 minutes.
