Media Maratón Ciudad de Salamanca
The Lowdown
The Media Maratón Ciudad de Salamanca is an annual half marathon through the historic center of Salamanca in northwestern Spain, organized by the Ayuntamiento de Salamanca together with Club Deportivo Cazabaches. The certified 21.097 km course starts on the Paseo de la Estación and finishes in the Parque de la Alamedilla, passing landmarks such as the Plaza Mayor, the Salamanca Cathedral and the University of Salamanca. Pacers guide runners toward finish times from 1 hour 20 minutes to 2 hours, and the route is supervised by judges from the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation. First held in the early 2010s, the race has grown into one of the most popular half marathons in Castile and León, selling out its bibs within about 18 hours in a recent edition. The 2027 edition, the 15th, is set for Sunday, March 7, 2027, with online registration opening January 7, 2027 through the official site.

A separate, older event, the Media Maratón Diputación de Salamanca (organized by the Diputación de Salamanca, held each October in Santa Marta de Tormes), is a different race from this one.
