Media Maratón de León
The Lowdown
The Media Maratón de León is an annual half marathon through the historic center of León in northern Spain, organized by the city's Concejalía de Deportes with Sprint Atletismo León under the regional federation FETACYL. The certified 21.097 km course starts near Estadio Hispánico on the Paseo del Parque, loops through the León neighborhoods of La Lastra, La Candamia, La Granja, El Ejido, La Torre and La Palomera, and reaches Plaza de la Catedral around the 10 km mark. The closing stretch winds through the medieval old town along Calle Ancha, Plaza Mayor and the Arco de la Cárcel before finishing on the Estadio Hispánico athletics track. First run in the early 2010s, the race has grown into one of Castile and León's largest running events, alongside a 5K, a youth Peque Media and a family-oriented Mini Media. The 2027 edition, its 17th, is set for April 4, 2027, with online registration already open through ccnorte.com.
