Medio Maratón Metepec

The Medio Maratón Metepec is an annual road race hosted by Capital Deportiva at Parque Bicentenario in Metepec, Estado de México, a city in the Toluca Valley at roughly 2,650 meters above sea level. The event offers three distances — 5K, 10K, and the half marathon (21K) — starting and finishing inside the park, with the course running on closed city streets around the park and nearby avenues before returning to the finish line across from the Biblioteca Pública Municipal. The most recent edition, held Sunday, July 5, 2026, drew more than a thousand runners for a morning start at 7:00 am, with awards for the top three men and women finishers in each distance. Kit pickup takes place the day before the race, and registration has historically closed several days ahead of race day, or sooner if capacity is reached. Capital Deportiva runs this event as part of a busier annual calendar in Metepec that also includes a February edition (Amor y Amistad) and a November edition (Día de Muertos) at the same venue. Runners can expect a flat, park-and-street course well suited to a fast half marathon, tempered by the thin air of the Toluca Valley's altitude, along with hydration stations, medical support, and entertainment along the route.
