Medio Maratón Ruta del Vino Somontano

The Medio Maratón Ruta del Vino Somontano is an annual half marathon, with 10K and 5K options, through the vineyards of the Somontano wine region in Aragón, Spain. Organized by Club Atletismo Barbastro and sponsored by the Denominación de Origen Protegida (DOP) Somontano since its early editions, the course starts in Barbastro, climbs to the village of Salas Bajas, and passes three of the region's best-known wineries -- Viñas del Vero, Enate, and Pirineos -- before returning to the city center. Now in its fourth decade, it has only been cancelled once and was honored at Barbastro's 2026 Sports Gala for DOP Somontano's 32 years of sponsorship. Runners receive a commemorative t-shirt, chip timing, and finish-line refreshments, with post-race showers available at the Pabellón Ángel Orús.
