Mitja Marató Colomenca

Mitja Marató Colomenca is an annual half marathon organized by Unió Colomenca d'Atletisme in Santa Coloma de Gramenet, a city on the northeastern edge of Barcelona, held each February as a popular tune-up before the Barcelona Marathon. Runners start and finish at the Camp d'Atletisme Antonio Amorós and follow a rolling, undulating route that mixes urban Santa Coloma streets with regional roads, both certified by the Federació Catalana d'Atletisme and counted toward its Route Race League. The race pairs the 21.097 km half marathon with a companion 10 km event and free children's races, capping the combined field at around 1,750 entrants. Race-day support includes multiple pacing groups, several aid stations, post-race food, showers and lockers, and the event ties a solidarity component to KMSxELA - Fundació Miquel Valls and Sabatilles Solidàries. Now past its 13th edition, the Colomenca is known locally for keeping entry fees low even as many races raise prices, and it has built a loyal following among Catalan runners for its well-organized, community feel.
