Reggae Marathon
The Lowdown
The Reggae Marathon is Jamaica's flagship road running event, now in its 26th year. Founded in Negril in 2000, the event relocated to Kingston in 2025 and 2026 marks its second consecutive year along Kingston's historic waterfront district. IMPORTANT: as of the Kingston relocation, the in-person event no longer offers a full 42.2km marathon distance -- only Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K are run in person (a virtual Marathon option exists separately). The mostly flat, IAAF/AIMS-certified Half Marathon starts and finishes at Nethersole Place / Port Royal Street on the Kingston Waterfront, sanctioned by the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA). Race weekend includes a Pasta Party and Race Expo at Devon House (Dec 4-5) and a Finish Line Beach Bash at the Kingston Waterfront on race day. Over US$10,000 in total prize money is awarded, including the Bob Marley and Rita Marley trophies for the male and female Half Marathon winners.
