The Lowdown

The Semi-Marathon de Boulogne-Billancourt is a rolling, fast-course half marathon held every November in the Paris suburb of Boulogne-Billancourt, organized since 1997 by the Athletic Club de Boulogne-Billancourt (ACBB) together with the city. Officially named for longtime club figure Christian Granger, the race has grown from just over 1,000 finishers around 2000 into one of the three largest half marathons in France, with a 2026 field capped at 13,000 runners. The loop course starts and finishes near the Hôtel de Ville on Avenue Victor Hugo, follows the banks of the Seine past the Sèvres Cité de la céramique and across the Pont de Saint-Cloud, then takes a short detour through the Bois de Boulogne near the Longchamp Racecourse, for 124 meters of total elevation gain over an otherwise flat, PR-friendly layout. Aid stations offer solid and liquid refreshment every 5 kilometers, and the event holds an FFA Silver Label for its medical, security, and environmental standards, following a run as an IAAF Bronze Label race earned in 2011. Registration for the 2026 edition sold out well ahead of race day, leaving a resale platform as the only route to a bib. Club Challenge and Corporate Challenge team competitions run alongside the individual race, and the 2015 edition was cancelled following the Paris attacks.
