StrAVicenza

StrAVicenza is Vicenza's annual FIDAL-homologated 10 km road race through the city's historic center, organized each March by A.S.D. Atletica Vicentina (FIDAL club code VI626). The 2026 edition, run on March 15, was the race's 24th (XXIV) and drew more than 1,000 entries in the competitive field. The course starts at Piazza Castello and threads through Vicenza's most recognizable squares -- Piazza San Lorenzo, the greenery of Parco Querini and Campo Marzo, Piazza Duomo, Piazza delle Poste, Piazza delle Erbe, and Piazza Biade -- before finishing in the arcaded Piazza dei Signori, beneath Palladio's Basilica Palladiana. The competitive men's and women's 10 km race is FIDAL Category A certified and open to runners with FIDAL club affiliation, a Runcard (age 20 and up), or a Runcard-EPS, plus a valid competitive medical certificate; unaffiliated runners must be at least 16 (the allievi/e age category). The race currently runs under the sponsored title "Trofeo Banca delle Terre Venete." Race weekend also includes non-competitive walking routes of roughly 4.5 km and 10 km and dedicated school participation, drawing a broad community turnout well beyond the competitive field. The city enforces a street closure and traffic ban (an "ecological Sunday") along the route, and organizers recommend public transit. Based on the race's consistent March scheduling -- the 2026 edition fell on the third Sunday of the month -- the next edition is projected for mid-to-late March 2027; the official 2027 date and registration details had not yet been published as of this record's creation.
