The Taipei Marathon (臺北馬拉松), title-sponsored by Fubon Financial, is Taiwan's largest and most prestigious road race, held annually on the third Sunday of December. A World Athletics Gold Label event, the full marathon (42.195K) starts at 06:30 from Taipei City Hall Plaza (市民廣場) and finishes at the Taipei Stadium / Taipei Sports Park, taking runners on a fast course through the heart of the capital. The field is capped at 9,000 for the marathon and 19,000 for the half marathon (21.0975K), which starts at 07:00. General entry is allocated by lottery ("register first, then draw"), alongside a time-qualifying (達標) route with age-graded standards — 3:10 for men and 4:00 for women aged 18-39 — and a paid Gold Label guaranteed-entry group for runners holding a sub-3:15 marathon from a labelled race.
