The Lowdown

Tout Rennes Court is Brittany's biggest free running festival, held every autumn in the streets of Rennes since 1982. Organized by a team of volunteers under title sponsor Harmonie Mutuelle, the event reached its 45th edition on October 4, 2026, drawing roughly 20,000 runners across its Sunday race program, plus a Saturday solidarity walk (La Colombia) and midweek school races -- about 32,000 participants across the whole weekend. The flagship distance is Le S'MI Ouest-France, a 21.1 km half marathon starting at 9:00 AM on Boulevard de la Liberté in front of Les Halles Centrales and finishing on the Esplanade Charles de Gaulle, threading the cobblestone streets of the historic center, half-timbered houses, the banks of the Ille and Vilaine rivers, and Thabor Park. The same day also includes the 10 km Ville de Rennes at noon, the 5 km Decathlon at 2:00 PM, three free youth races (Minimes, Benjamins, Poussins), and an FFA-licensed interclub team challenge for club athletes. True to its founding spirit, every race -- half marathon, 10K, 5K, and youth races alike -- remains entirely free to enter, with no registration fee at any distance. All three adult categories reached capacity well ahead of race day for 2026; runners can still trade bibs through Klikego's official bib exchange, and a handful of youth spots remain open.

Founded in 1982; the 2026 edition was the 45th, making it one of France's longest-running free popular running events.

Organized by volunteers with Harmonie Mutuelle as title sponsor; roughly 20,000 runners took the start line on Sunday in 2025-2026, and about 32,000 people took part across the full weekend program (competitive races, the Saturday solidarity walk, and midweek school races).

A regular French Athletics Federation (FFA) test-match venue -- the French U23 national team has raced at Tout Rennes Court in past editions.

Per-race capacity caps (2025-2026 scale): roughly 5,000 for the S'MI half marathon, 9,000 for the 10 km, 5,000 for the 5 km, and 300 for each youth race.

The S'MI Ouest-France course was redesigned for 2026 as a single 21.1 km loop (previously two laps) to reduce crossings between front and back-of-pack runners.
