The Lowdown

The West Coast Half Marathon is a point-to-point road race organized by Fylde Coast Runners, running from Preston Docks along the Guild Wheel through Freckleton and Warton to a coastal finish at Fairhaven Lake in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire. Now in its seventh year, the flat 13.1-mile course is capped at 650 runners, with a shuttle bus carrying runners from the Lytham race HQ to the Preston start each morning. Finishers receive a bespoke medal, a technical finisher's t-shirt, and chip timing, with hydration stations at 3, 6, and 9 miles along the route. Entry is online-only, with prices set at £30 for standard competitors and £28 for UKA/ARC club members; the event sold out early in 2025, so early entry is recommended. The race starts at 10:00am and is open to runners aged 17 and over on race day.
