Elegibilidad
- Must be 18 years or older to register for the full marathon
- Must complete online registration and have a valid race bib to participate
- Valid government-issued photo ID required at packet pickup
- Must agree to the official race waiver and event rules during registration
- Participants must be physically fit and sufficiently trained; medical clearance recommended for anyone with pre-existing health conditions or age-related concerns
- All runners must finish within the course time limit of 7 hours to receive official finish time and services
- No bicycles, scooters, skates, or pets allowed on the course; strollers are not permitted in the marathon start
- Wheelchair or handcycle athletes must register in the appropriate division and comply with adaptive athlete rules
- Transfers, deferrals, and refunds are governed by the event's official policy available on the race website

Deferrals to the next year permitted until 30 days before race (by 2026-06-26) for a $30 processing fee
Bib transfers to another registered runner allowed until 14 days before race (by 2026-07-12) for a $20 transfer fee
If the event is canceled by the organizer for reasons other than participant-specific issues, entrants will be offered a full deferral to the next event or a partial refund (entry fee minus a $15 administrative fee)
If the event is postponed for reasons beyond the organizer's control (force majeure), entries will be automatically deferred to the rescheduled date unless the entrant requests a refund (refunds subject to a $15 administrative fee)
The course is USATF-certified and a Boston Marathon-qualifier, providing an official time for qualifying standards.
Runners will experience iconic San Francisco landmarks and scenic views including portions near the Golden Gate Bridge, the Marina, and a finish inside Golden Gate Park, but should be prepared for several steep hills and potential coastal winds.
Finishers receive a custom finisher medal and a technical race shirt, and the post-race festival features food trucks, a beer garden, and recovery services like massage and medical tents.
Race weekend includes an official packet pickup expo with vendors and sponsors, a pre-race pasta dinner option, and a kids' run on race day, making it a full festival atmosphere for families.
Aid stations are typically placed every 1.5–2 miles with water, electrolyte drink, and gel options; organizers strongly recommend using public transit or official race shuttles due to limited parking and road closures.
